My Review: A high pressure rainfall showerhead? I was initially sold just on that alone. This is an excellent and affordable shower head which offers 6 different pressure settings including power rain, power mist (which feels like a tropical storm), and more. I found the installation to be quite simple with no arm to install, and the entire process took maybe 5 minutes. Highly recommended.

Comments: If you’re looking for a high-pressure shower head but you’re on a budget, this is absolutely the first shower head you should look to. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. This shower head offers 6 different settings and comes with everything you need for its installation. The shower head itself is a little small, but is more than capable of delivering a relaxing shower. For the price, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this one.

Comments: Wow! What can I say? This shower head offers 48(!) different spray channels which deliver quite the high pressure experience. In fact, this shower head offers up to 2.5 gallons of water per minute which is actually the legal limit here in the United States.  Thanks to its design, it can also be adjusted to ensure you’re enjoying almost every droplet of water that comes out of it. Just make sure to keep an eye on your water bill. The one downside? It costs a bit more than some of the other showerheads on this list. Fortunately, you get what you pay for, and it is the best high pressure shower head that I’ve found.

Comments: This is the current shower head that I use in my main shower. And while it doesn’t advertise it’s main feature as being a high pressure showerhead, it does offer a couple higher pressure settings. It is also quite affordable, offers a very relaxing mist setting, and even includes a handheld shower head which can be ran simultaneously. If you’re solely looking for power, this one isn’t it. But if you want some power in addition to other added features, this is the best bang for your buck shower head that I’ve encountered.

Comments: While this shower head advertises itself as more of a luxury shower head, it would be a mistake to write this one off. In fact, just like the big boys it offers water flow up to the legal limit of 2.5 gallons per minute. This shower heads other big selling point? Luxury. It has a beautiful polished brass finish, offers 6 different spray settings, and is clearly built with some quality and durability in mind. Despite the slightly higher price tag, people love it and you probably will too.

Why You May Need a Water Softener for Your Shower Head

Why You May Need a Water Softener for Your Shower Head

Water softeners designed for shower heads are usually smaller than those that are set up for a whole house, and they also cost less. They are easier to install and maintain than whole-house models. Even if you have a purification or water filtration system for your home, it is still important to use a water softener. Although filtration systems remove a lot of additives and chemicals from your water, they don’t take minerals from your water. These minerals cause build-up in your shower head and plumbing system. Here are a few reasons why you should buy a water softener for your shower head:

You could get a younger look

Chlorine used to treat water, together with other minerals in the water can have a negative impact on your skin. This can lead to premature aging of your skin, something that you certainly don’t want. The minerals can also dry out your hair and skin. By using a water softener on your showerhead, you can have a healthy looking skin, thus boosting your confidence

Saves you money

When your skin looks young and your hair is healthy, you don’t need to buy expensive beauty products. You will be able to save the money that you could have used to buy all the products to make you look younger. You only need to buy a water softener for your shower head.

Showers heads are not 100% clean

There are many micro-organisms and bacteria in an average shower head. These microscopic creatures come out when you turn on your shower. However, when you use a water softener, the mineral deposits, which play host bacteria and other micro-organisms will be absorbed.

Improves the performance of your shower head

People who don’t use water softeners will experience a decrease in flow rate in a very short time due to mineral deposits from the hard water. Soft water shower heads will maintain their consistent stream and flow over time. This also means that using a water softener will increase the longevity of your shower head.

Keeps The Tub Cleaner

If you have hard water, you will know how often it can stain your tub. And these stains are not easy to clean! It can also stain your cups, humidifier, bathroom sinks, and more. A water softener is a great way to save on unnecessary cleaning down the road.

Why Every Bathroom Should Also Have a Body Scale – Benefits to Your Health

Why Every Bathroom Should Also Have a Body Scale – Benefits to Your Health

The number of obesity cases is increasing at an alarming rate these days that it has become important for people to keep a constant watch on their weight. People who don’t have a weight scale in their bathroom usually don’t bother to check their weight which can be detrimental to their health. So, make sure that you have a weighing scale in your bathroom to weigh yourself before taking your bath.

Let’s take a closer look at the bathroom scale. These devices help people check whether they were successful in shading off those extra pounds from a daily workout. The main reason why they are known as bathroom scales is that the bathroom is the logical place to weigh privately (without clothes). So, they are placed in the bathroom.

Many people today prefer digital scales over mechanical ones because of reduction of spring errors. When you step on the scale, the weight is registered and displayed on small screen. These scales can also explain to you the results of your measurements based on your body mass index (BMI). You only need to input your details like age and weight for the scale to determine whether you are overweight or underweight or if your weight is right for you. Once the bathroom scale has stored your personal details, it will automatically calculate your BMI.

Here are a few reasons why you need a bathroom scale:

Accurate measurement

Bathroom body scales provide exact measurements of your weight. Unlike mechanical scales which are subject to springs errors, digital scales are more accurate.

Capacity increase

Modern digital bathroom scales can measure higher weights when compared to old mechanical scales. Some scales can support only 330 pounds whereas others can accommodate up to 550 pounds. A 330-pound scale-capacity should be enough for an average person, but if your family needs a bathroom scale that can measure higher weights, don’t hesitate to choose a scale with greater ability. It is important that you choose scale that fits your needs.

Digital Reporting

Today’s digital scales are often designed with bluetooth connectivity. So, if you want to track your body weight over a certain period of time straight through your phone, getting a bathroom scale can be a fantastic solution for you.

With so many benefits, it is no wonder that bathroom scales are outperforming their mechanical counterparts by far in terms of popularity today. Although the price of digital bathroom scale is higher, it goes without saying that they are certainly more than worth it.

How Long Should A Shower Last?

How Long Should A Shower Last?

While some people take a longer time to shower and can spend up to 30-45 minutes shower, there are also people who spend a very short time in the shower. In fact, some people shower in as little as 5 minutes! Personally, I would prefer the 45 minute shower! Unfortunately, my water heater does not have that kind of stamina. That said, the average shower length will come in right around 15-20 minutes.

Who takes the longest time to shower, men or women?

Generally, it has been established that women shower for longer periods than men. The average shower time of a woman is close to 20 minutes, where as the male is closer to 15 minutes.

What is the average shower frequency?

How often one showers per week varies from one person to another. Some people shower once or twice a day. Other’s prefer to shower once every other day. As always it depends on the person. In general though the average is once a day.

How much does it cost to shower?

Have you ever imagined how much it costs to take a shower? Well, I suppose your answer would be no. The cost actually depends on whether or not you’ve installed a water saving shower head. The cost of showering on average is about 1 cent per minute. That means that if you shower every day for about 30 minutes, it will cost you about $1.80 per month.

How to shower properly in a quick 10 minute shower session

On limited time? Need to shower quickly? Here are a few tips:

  • Get the water temperature right- water that is too hot may injure your skin without your knowledge while cold water may make you get out quicker than you need to.
  • Start with cleaning your head-Apply shampoo and use your fingers to work out your hair. Rinse your head thoroughly. A minute or two should be adequate.
  • Wash your face-Apply exfoliating scrub on your face and massage gently with your fingers for about 30 seconds. Rinse your face thoroughly.
  • Clean your body-Apply a small amount of body wash to a body sponge and form latter. Often times people spend too much time lathering up and not enough time rinsing off. A quick lather and spend the rest of the time rinsing off should work.

Out Of the Box Bathroom Upgrade Ideas

Out Of the Box Bathroom Upgrade Ideas

The best bathroom remodeling ideas aren’t just about saving a few bucks, but rather starting off your day right. The bathroom is one of the most special rooms in the house since they are areas where homeowners spend a significant amount of money and time renovating.

When thinking about bathroom upgrade ideas, you need to consider the return on investment and usefulness. Do you want to make a complete upgrade or start smaller? Before you go nuts installing rain shower heads and saunas, check out these out of the box bathroom upgrade ideas:

Get a new sink

Face washing, hand washing, teeth brushing-your sink takes a lot. The first step for getting the most for your buck is to get a new modern sink. Just determine whether your sink is an under-mount or overmount. It can be difficult to remove an undermount unless it is under a Formica top. If the bathroom sink is attached to the surface, then the top also has to go, which increases the cost. One dramatic and easy sink upgrade is separating cold and hot faucets with a single-handle faucet.

Go for timeless tile

In general, bathroom remodeling ideas should appeal to a wide range of people and increase the value of your home. Although natural stone is good, you should neutral styles. Expensive stones is a taste-specific and can give your bathroom a busy look that’s a turnoff in spite the expense. In fact, one of the main problems that homeowners face is the cost of redoing the “bad choices” of other people. This also can’t be stressed enough if you plan to sell your home someday.

Upgrade your lighting

You can never underestimate the importance of lighting and lighting fixtures. Don’t use dated light fixtures. You can buy a basic but nice light fixture for no more than $100. Lighting sets the mood, and this can raise your mood just as much as an expensive new shower.

Get a double vanity

The last thing you want is to battle with your partner in the morning over who uses the sink first. Getting a double vanity is a worthy investment when remodeling your bathroom. In fact, a common complain for many people in passing on buying a specific house is that the bathroom only has one sink in the master bedroom. The double vanity will pay you back both in you and your partners sanity, and in the pocketbook someday if you choose to sell.

Swap in new fixtures

Old materials can date your shower instantly. Purchase drawer pullers, towel bars, and new bathroom door handles for a remodel that is inexpensive, quick and easy.

Install a water-saving toilet

Aside from updating the look of your bathroom, replacing your toilet can save you some money. Old toilers use six gallons of water for every flush, but a water-saving toilet can use less water.
